It was Da Bomb!
90s style and fashion was heavily influenced by TV, Hollywood and the music industry. Fashion fads of the 1990s took us fromBaywatch inspired boob jobs and Brazilian waxes, to the Grunge look of Nirvana and Bill and Ted. We wanted the hairstyles of 90s fashion such as the Rachel Do, the Caesarand floppy Dawson’s Creek boy hair. The 80s represented a time of outrageous fashions in a neon rainbow of colors. The 90s, however, entered on the more somber Grunge-inspired note and proceeded forward with flatter hair and a more subdued palette.
Fashion of the 1990s hit an eclectic mix of styles from Grunge to Goth. Get all the 411 on the various fashion trends from the 90s here by searching the articles below.

The range of 90s fashions included the khaki/black/white combo that reined supreme, happily provided by Banana Republic and The Gap. Footwear hit a practical note with comfortable options such as Doc Martens and hiking boots. 1990s women’s fashion was both baggy and revealing with Clueless inspiredchunky heeled shoes, A-Line mini dresses and underskirt style short dresses worn over bodysuits or T-Shirts and music scene-inspired cut-off jeans, tiny midriff-baring tops and belly button piercings. We all wanted the foot tattoo that Drew Barrymore had in the movie Poison Ivy and suffered the nineties fashion dilemma of whether to festoon our hair with banana clips, scrunchies and tiny plastic butterfly clasps or go for the Grunge side of 90s fashion with long straight center-parted hair.
Let us not forget that the clothing of the 1990s should not always be remembered fondly. Some nineties fashion disasters to cringe at are the comfortable but not ever so attractive Boston style Birkenstock(though that Mellow Yellow Gap commercial was really catchy) and the unfortunately named fanny pack!
Oh yes. Fashion of the 1990s should always be remembered with equal measures of nostalgic joy and embarrassment. Groove is in the heart (and the fashion)!
